S7 MPI profi cable LCD TCP
Part No: VIPA 950-0KB40
.
TCP/IP to MPI/PPI Programming Cable, LCD, 3m powered from PLC MPI / PROFIBUS port or with external 24VDC connection
Use STEP7, TIA Portal or WinPLC7 to connect to a Siemens or VIPA S7-300, S7-400, S7-200, S7-1200, S7-1500 PLC MPI port, or Profibus Port, via TCP/IP on the PC.
Plug the TCP/IP RJ connector of the cable into the network port of your laptop or into a hub on the lan anywhere.
Use the VIPA STEP7 embedded driver included on CD for free
Or
Setup in STEP7 a CP343-1 with the IP address of the cable in your hardware config and you can program directly to the PLC just as if you had installed a CP343-1 physically in the PLC rack.
If you don’t use STEP7, or don’t use SIMATIC net that’s OK too, just install the included VIPA PLCVcom driver on your laptop and then you can program over TCP/IP via a virtual com port on the PC with your existing PLC software.
LCD display for display of cable into Automatic MPI, PPI modes
24VDC terminals for external connection when in use anywhere on the MPI network even without direct PLC connection.
Powered directly from PLC when directly connected.
Connect via CiTect (using PSDirect), Wonderware, WinCC, or any SCADA with inbuilt Siemens MPI driver using the VIPA VCOM software Virtual Com port, or without MPI driver using VIPA OPC Server.
Up to 8 simultaneous connections of Programming, SCADA or HMI are possible at the same time.
Can be a Gateway from TCP/IP to MPI or Profibus DP, using the above methods.
Note: STEP7 5.5 SP2 and newer no longer supports serial COM ports including virtual COM ports when using Windows7 64bit. TIA Portal does not support COM ports at all, no matter which version of the operating system is used.
All versions of STEP7 and TIA Portal are supported using the supplied Embedded driver which adds the cable as a device inside the PG/PC interface.
