Use this cable instead of the Siemens MPI adapter. No software settings are required to be changed, just plug in this cable to a VIPA MPI port, set STEP7 to MPI adapter and go online and program over this low cost cable.
This cable is a point to point solution, the PC must be the only device connected to the PLC whilst using this cable.
If you require a mulitdrop solution whilst programming at the same time, then our 950-0KB01, 950-0KB10, 950-0KB20, 950-0KB30, 950-0KB40 are suitable alternatives

Attention: Does not work with Siemens CPU's (see 950-0KB10, 950-0KB20, 950-0KB30, 950-0KB40), only for use in VIPA CPU 11xV, 21xV, 31xV, 51xV, NOTE: not suitable for SPEED7.

Note: STEP7 5.5 SP2 and newer no longer supports serial COM ports including virtual COM ports when using Windows7 64bit. TIA Portal does not support COM ports at all, no matter which version of the operating system is used.
