This cable can be used on SCADA system or anywhere where a direct connection to a S7 CPU is not available. By using this cable you can connect onto the MPI network anywhere.

Note: STEP7 5.5 SP2 and newer no longer supports serial COM ports including virtual COM ports when using Windows7 64bit. TIA Portal does not support COM ports at all, no matter which version of the operating system is used.
